Ellington Farmers' Market Scarecrow Contest Winners

Determined to improve their second place finish in last years Scarecrow Contest at the Ellington Farmers’ Market, Ella and Lillie Tevelde along with Madeline Cavanagh created one of their favorite characters, Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. Their entry came complete with the legs of the Wicked Witch of the West protruding from Dorothy’s house and won first prize in the contest. Customers voted throughout the morning for their favorite entry. There are two weeks remaining of the summer market. The winter market begins Saturday Nov. 22nd. at the Indian Valley YMCA, 11 Pinney St., from 2-4. The market will be held twice per month through March.
