Ellington Holds Traditional Farmers' Market
One of the few area markets open for traditional strolling and shopping, Ellington hosts over 30 vendors with farm and food products.

The Ellington Farmers Market is holding its traditional open-air farmers’ market Saturday mornings 9-12 through October 17th. With several area farmers markets either canceling for the season or converting to pre-order and pick up only, Ellington Farmers Market is one of a few markets in the area where customers can still stroll the grounds and view the wares. The market has temporarily moved to the front parking lot of the Ellington High School, 37 Maple St. through June, and will move back Arbor Park beginning on July 4th. Over 30 vendors participate with a wide variety of farm products including produce, meats dairy, cheese, eggs, vegetable, and flower plants. Seafood, baked goods including gluten free and vegan, prepared and specialty foods are available along with soaps and bath and body products. The market matches SNAP benefits up to $20 per week per EBT card and will be matching the Senior and WIC Farmer Market Nutrition vouchers as well. Kids Power of Produce Club, beginning June 20th, will be providing take home kits with activities to empower kids to make healthy food choices. The kits come with a $2 token for kids to purchase produce at the market. All customers are asked to wear masks and kindly adhere to 6-foot social distancing. Pre-orders directly from vendors are available for customers convenience. Links to the vendors pre-order options can be found at www.ellingtonfarmersmarket.com where customers can also sign up for the weekly newsletter.
