Ellington Non-Profits Participating in Giving Tuesday

Ellington Farmers' Market and Ellington Historical Society seek donations to support low income families and museum restoration projects.

Two Ellington 501c3 non-profit organizations are seeking donations on Giving Tuesday, December 1, 2020. Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organization to transform their communities and the world.

The Ellington Farmers' Market is seeking donations for several programs that double the purchasing power of healthy foods for families receiving SNAP benefits, low income seniors and Women receiving WIC benefits. The distribution of funds by the market, which help to ensure food security for people in need, doubled this season and donations are needed to continue these important programs. Donations can be made directly to the Ellington Farmers Market through a link on their website or through their Facebook campaign.

The Ellington Historical Society is seeking donations to complete the final repairs to the barn that houses the new Farm Exhibit featuring the history of Ellington Farming and additional projects and maintenance needs. The Historical Society has completed many overdue repairs on the Nellie McKnight Museum this past year and is in need of funding to continue the progress. Plans for increased use of the property featuring monthly community events are underway to begin in spring 2021. Donations can be made through the Historical Society website or their Facebook campaign.
