ELLINGTON, CT — A trip into a Vernon convenience store proved beneficial for an Ellington man recently, as he purchased a CT Lottery scratch ticket which yielded the game's top prize.

Paul Plourde acquired his winning ticket in the 20X Cash 6th Edition game at the Fas Mart on Talcottville Road. He won $20,000, which he claimed Friday, according to the CT Lottery website.

The CT Lottery posts winners of $10,000 or more as public record.
