Ellington Resident Wins Over $20,000 on Jeopardy
Graham Fulton praises the producers of Jeopardy for making his Jeopardy experience exciting, enjoyable and lucrative.

Local Jeopardy enthusiasts love to think they could win it all, but Ellington’s own Graham Fulton III lived that dream, winning $22,400 in a contest that aired in late December on the long-running popular ABC game show. Mr. Fulton grew up in Manchester and has called Ellington his home for 18 years. A graduate of Boston University, Mr. Fulton entered college in the 1970s but left before graduating. He returned to school and graduated 5 years ago, top in his class, completing an on-line degree program funded by his employer, United Technologies, where he works in the field of computational fluid dynamics.
After completing an on-line Jeopardy test in the spring, he got the call to meet in New York City with show officials for an interview and practice rounds with other potential contestants. Then in November he traveled to Sony Studios in Culver City California, joining 20 other contestants for a two-day filming session that would film five contests each day. Contestants are chosen at random from the group, and the producers prepare seven games for each day. Five of the seven games are also randomly choosen to be used in the competition.
Mr. Fulton decided to enjoy the adventure, so didn’t study or prepare for the show. He states that the experience was positive in every way and had nothing but praise for the show’s producers, who were friendly and helpful throughout the process. Ellington is proud of Graham Fulton III, its very own hometown intellectual hero.
