Ellington Road Work Set for Late July

Roadways to see leveling, capping and chip seal.

Prepare for slight travel delays as work begins on several roadways in Ellington in the coming weeks.

Starting Monday, July 22, workers will begin to level and cap White Road and Lakeview Avenue, according to the Ellington Department of Public Works.

On or around Monday, July 29, chip sealing will begin on the following roads:

  • Village Street;
  • Windermere Avenue;
  • Jacobs Hill Road;
  • Miner Hill Road;
  • Old Sandy Beach Road;
  • White Road;
  • Lakeview Avenue;
  • Ludwig Road;
  • Wheelock Road; and
  • Newell Hill Road.
Chip sealing the roadways will decrease the chance of re-flexing and cracking from reoccuring and is cost-effective, according to public works director Timothy Webb.
