For the second year in a row the Ellington Farmers’ Market will partner with the Alliance for Holistic Living to bring you a holistically-oriented wellness fair. This community event will focus on sharing information as well as offering hands-on experience emphasizing the benefits of holistic living. Alliance members and local holistic practitioners or service providers will feature energy healing, the Biomat, yoga demonstrations, chair massage, chiropractic care, and Tibetan Singing Bowls. This is a great chance to try out different modalities with which you may be unfamiliar. The focus is all about connecting our mind, body and spirit.  Fresh, local produce is reaching its peak and a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables will be available. Purchase a beautiful bouquet of summer flowers to remind you of nature's endless bounty of color. Take time to stop at the market, refresh your soul and spirit and purchase Connecticut-grown food to fuel your body for the coming week. Our entertainer of the week is Mark Paradis, a Hartford area guitarist and singer in such bands as the Marks Brothers and Dead On who also performs as a solo acoustic artist. He has been performing in our area for over 20 years. Our very special guest this Saturday...Friends of Centre Lumiere, a home economics training school in Haiti where students are taught the Bible, life skills, health and needlework. The school produces high quality items that are then sold to benefit the school and those who attend. Also on hand will be the always-popular Olive a Little - delicious olive oils and vinegars, and Bayberry Meadow Herbs. Join us to renew body, mind, soul and spirit before the cold weather arrives!
