Fiber Festival at Ellington Farmers' Market Saturday May 14th 9-12 in Arbor Park

Sheep shearing demo, baby angora goats, hands on activities and everything Fiber (not the kind you eat) along with 40 local vendors.

Fiber Festival Saturday May 14th from 9-12, Arbor Park, Main ST.

Thank you to everyone for helping to make our first Saturday Market Day a huge, fun-filled success last week! Although the weather was less than perfect, the kids who shared their animals were fantastic and there were smiles everywhere. Market week #2 is our ever-popular All's Wool that Ends Wool Fiber Fest.. One lucky sheep will get a buzz cut at the sheep-shearing demonstration at 10:00 AM, which you will not want to miss. Children will be able to make their own "nesting ball" from alpaca fiber at Clear Mountain Alpaca Farm, try their hand at needle felting and discover how fiber is spun into yarn. Bring your reusable bag or basket and fill it with fresh Connecticut springtime produce including rhubarb, baby greens, shiitake mushrooms, lettuce, spinach radishes and hot house vegetables from area farms. It appears that Mother Nature is going to cooperate so join us for the fabulous fiber festivities.
