Final Ellington Winter Farmers' Market Hosts "Chopped" Chef, Easter Items and End of Season Specials

Learn to cook with local foods available at the market with "Chopped" Chef Chris Avtges , shop 25 vendors and stock up for the 7 week break

Final Winter Market 2-4 PM at the YMCA- 11 Pinney St.

We are ending the winter market season with a bang this Saturday! Chef Chris Avtges will give a cooking demonstration using local products available at the market at 2:30 in the children's room. The menu includes seared salmon over winter greens slaw, gluten free chicken waffle bites with rhubarb ginger glaze and fresh chnopfli (spaetzle) pasta with caramelized onions and herbs. Vendors are bringing extra stock so you'll be able to purchase the items needed to replicate chef's mouth watering dishes before or after the demonstration. Be sure to stock up on all your favorites so you don't run out during the 7 week break until our summer market begins May 6th. Be sure to check out all the specials listed below.

The Fish Market- A variety of seafood from the boats in Stonington CT. Special this week: Pick up some of their organically raised salmon for the seared salmon over winter slaw recipe demonstrated by Chef Chris plus fresh tuna is $1 off per pound (better get both!)
Biossential Microgreens-A variety of nutrient dense micro-greens. Chef Chris will be using Harvest Moon blend which is a sweet cabbage, dill and cress blend in his winter slaw recipe.
