Great Lineup of Fall Events at the Ellington Farmers' Market

Ellington Farmers' Market Going Strong Through Oct. 18th

Exciting lineups of events are scheduled at the Ellington Farmers’ Market this fall. They are bringing the race track back on Sept. 27th for a Fall Harvest Drag Race. Attach any fall fruit or vegetable to a set of wheels and compete for prizes in this open class, double elimination race. The track is 6.5 inches wide with 2 inch sides. The race begins at 10:00am and prizes will be awarded for the top three finishers. The market’s annual Scarecrow contest will be held on Oct. 4th. Bring your scarecrow creations to the big gazebo at 9:00 and customers will vote throughout the morning for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners who will receive market gift certificates. A Birds of Prey program by the CT Audubon Society is on tap for Oct. 11th at 10:00 and the popular Halloween Pet Parade will be held on the final day of the summer market on Oct 18th. Bring your pets in their finest Halloween garb and compete for prizes. The Parade takes place at 10:00. The Ellington Farmers’ Market is held in Arbor Park on Main St. from 9-12. Over 35 vendors bring a wide variety of seasonal produce along with dairy, seafood, poultry, beef, pork, baked goods including gluten free, specialty foods and artisan wares weekly.
