Great Lineup of Fall Events at Ellington Farmers' Market

The Ellington Farmers’ Market has an exciting and fun filled lineup of events are scheduled this fall. The The zucchini 500 Drag race was so popular that they are bringing the race track back on Sept. 26th for a Fall Harvest Drag Race. Attach any fall fruit or vegetable to a set of wheels and compete for prizes in this open class, double elimination race. The track is 6.5 inches wide with 2 inch sides. The race begins at 10:00am and prizes will be awarded for the top three finishers. The market’s annual Scarecrow contest will be held on Oct. 3th. Bring your scarecrow creations to the big gazebo at 9:00 and customers will vote throughout the morning for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners who will receive market gift certificates. A Birds of Prey program by the Horizon Wings is on tap for Oct. 10th at 10:00 and features a bald eagle, owl and other birds of prey. The popular Halloween Pet Parade will be held on the final day of the summer market on Oct 17th. Bring your pets in their finest Halloween garb and compete for prizes. The Parade takes place at 10:00. The Ellington Farmers’ Market is held in Arbor Park on Main St. from 9-12. Forty vendors bring a wide variety of seasonal produce along with dairy, seafood, poultry, beef, pork, baked goods including gluten free, specialty foods and artisan wares weekly. September 26th-Fall Harvest Drag RaceWe are bringing out the track for another race.Build a car using wheels on any fall fruit or vegetable and join the fun. The track is 6.5 inches wide with 2 inch sides. The race is an open class (children and adults) double elimination contest. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. It’s a blast!
