Here is some info on what is happening:

  • We are offering curb-side pickup service for library materials. See our website at www.library.ellington-ct.gov or call for further information.
  • The book drop is open for returns. Items returned in the drop are being disinfected and then quarantined for 8 days before being checked in.
  • All items that were due after March 15 have been automatically renewed until June 1; no fines will be charged for those materials.
  • Library cards that were due to expire in March, April or May have been automatically renewed until June 1. While we cannot issue new library cards for borrowing physical materials, we can renew existing cards, no matter how old. If your card is blocked due to pre-existing fines or bills, those can be paid in your online account. We can issue temporary cards for access to digital materials. Call or email to learn more.
  • We have a variety of online resources available--there are ebooks, eaudios, movies, music and comics, as well as classes and tutorials on a variety of subjects accessible from our website at library.ellington-ct.gov. Many new items have been added to our digital collections. Need assistance? Just call or email.
  • Need books for your book group? Try HooplaDigital, available from the Library website. This service is really easy to use and allows for multiple people to borrow the same title at once.
  • There are weekly Story Times posted on our website at www.library.ellington-ct.gov and on Facebook.
  • If you need tax forms, something printed, something notarized, information about anything or just to talk, call us. We are here for you!
  • Sign up to keep informed about Library news on our website. Click on the “Notify Me” link.

While we don’t have a definite reopening date scheduled we are planning for it, exploring program ideas for summer and what needs to be done to make the library safe for you all once we can come back together.
