Kids Power of Produce Club Begins Saturday June 13th at the Ellington Farmers' Market

Empower kids to make healthy food choices at the Ellington Farmers Market Kids Power of Produce Club.

In an effort to empower kids to make healthy food choices and introduce them to where their food comes from, the Ellington Farmers Market is once again sponsoring a Power of Produce Club for kids 5-12. The Kids Power of Produce Club begins June 13th and runs through Aug. 29th at the Ellington Farmers’ Market, Saturdays 9-12, in Arbor Park on Main St. On enrollment by parents or guardian, the children will receive a market shopping bag, token bag, and a $2 token to purchase fresh produce or a produce plant. Additional $2 tokens will be given each week of participation.

Through a series of fun activities, kids learn about healthy eating while interacting with their local farmers.  Weekly activities at the POP booth will include smoothie making, sampling produce, scavenger hunts, making vegetable animals, vegetable trivia and more. The program is free and open to children ages 5-12 with parental permission. Look for the tent with POP logo at the market and join the fun!
