Kids Power of Produce Club Kicks off at Ellington Farmers Market
Empowering kids to make healthy food choices each Saturday through Sept. 1st
In an effort to empower kids to make healthy food choices and introduce them to where their food comes from, the Ellington Farmers Market hosts a Power of Produce Club for kids 5-12. The Kids Power of Produce Club begins June 16th and runs through Sept.1st, 9-12, in Arbor Park on Main St. On enrollment by parents, the children will receive a market shopping bag, and a $2 token to purchase fresh produce. Additional $2 tokens will be given each week of participation. Weekly activities at the POP booth will include sampling produce, scavenger hunts, making vegetable animals, vegetable trivia and more. The program is free and open to children ages 5-12 with parental permission. Look for the tent with POP logo at the market and join the fun! POP is sponsored by Earthlight Technologies, LLC
