LongHorn Steakhouse Set to Open in Enfield

The restaurant's opening is expected to bring up to 100 jobs to town.

LongHorn Steakhouse is scheduled to open its fifth restaurant location in Connecticut Monday, according to Hartford Business Journal.

It's newest location is in Enfield next to the Hampton Inn on Phoenix Avenue.

LongHorn Steakhouse also has locations in Manchester, Shelton, Waterford and North Haven.

There is also a location in West Springfield.

Little-known facts:

LongHorn Steakhouse attributes its success to a "freak snowstorm" that hit the Atlanta area in 1982, and drove area residents to the only operating establishment around: LongHorn's first restaurant.

LongHorn Steakhouse is owned by Darden Restaurants, Inc. (NYSE: DRI), which also owns Olive Garden, Red Lobster, The Capital Grille.
