Lots To See And Do At The Nellie McKnight Museum

New farm exhibit, pumpkin decorating contest, live fiddle music, live barnyard babies, petticoats and pantaloons exhibit, family fun for all

Many months of planning, repairing and setup by Ellington Historical Society are completed and the new permanent farm exhibit is ready for public viewing. Explore the rich history of Ellington farming from the mid 1800's at the Nellie McKnight Museum, 70 Main St. Ellington, Saturday Oct. 24th from 11:00am to 3:00pm.

In addition to the main farm exhibit, antique farm equipment, scarecrows and live barnyard babies will be on display for all to enjoy. Live fiddle music will be provided by Mostly Quite Corner Fiddlers. The main Nellie McKnight museum will also be open and a new exhibit "Petticoats and Pantaloons Ladies' Vintage Clothing", will be featured.

Visitors may cast a vote for their favorite decorated pumpkin in the Ellington Beautification Committee pumpkin decorating contest. To submit an entry for the contest, bring a decorated pumpkin to the Nellie McKnight Museum by 10:00am. Visitors to the event will vote for their favorites. Prizes will be awarded to the top three.
