Matching SNAP Program Continues at Ellington Farmers’ Market

Ellington Farmers Market will match up to $20 per market per EBT card, doubling the spending power of low income families.

The Ellington Farmers’ Market is continuing to match up to $20 per market to holders of EBT SNAP cards. The market, a 501c3 non-profit corporation, is dedicated to helping low income families have access to healthy foods. Customers receiving SNAP benefits simply present their card at the market booth. The amount deducted from the card will be doubled, and customers will receive tokens (up to $40) to shop the many food vendors. Any foods eligible for purchase using SNAP in a grocery store are also eligible at the farmers' market.

The program is funded through donations by businesses and individuals. Links for donations can be found on the market website at www.ellingtonfarmersmarket.com or the market Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/ellingtonfarmersmarket Look for the “donate” icon.

The next market will be held on December 22nd from 2-4 at the Indian Valley YMCA. For additional information email ellingtonfarmersmarket@gmail.com
