Monticello Replica In Somers Up For Auction

The Friendly's Founder had it built.

SOMERS — The replica of Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello home made famous by an ice cream mogul is scheduled for the auction block.

The mansion in Somers goes up for sale later this month, according to Fox 61.

The home measures 10,000-square-feet and was built in 2014 for $7.7 million by S. Prestley Blake, co-founder of Friendly’s ice cream and restaurant chain.

It has never been lived in, and failed to sell for a "reduced" listing price of $4.9 million.

Blake, a big fan of Jefferson, built the mansion for his 100th birthday.
