ELLINGTON/SOMERS, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Bucknell University, Lewisburg PA

• Bucknell University has released the dean's list for outstanding academic achievement during the spring semester of the 2020-21 academic year. A student must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a scale of 4.0 to receive dean's list recognition. Olivia Santini, class of 2024, from Ellington, has achieved dean's list status for spring 2021.

Central Connecticut State University, New Britain CT

• Two dozen students from Ellington and Somers were named to the spring 2021 Dean’s List at Central Connecticut State University. From Ellington: Carla Beutel, Alexis Bigelow, Hannah Boudreau, Jamie Carbone, Paige Dodd, Jeffrey D'Onofrio, Steven Downs, Maxwell Gale, Mark Glaser, Sydney Logan, Shannon Milligan, Sean Milligan, My Nguyen, Amanda Pretty, Kaitlin Smith, Haley Smith, Sean Villeneuve, David Welton and Logan Yanaros. From Somers: Zachary DiPinto, Kaitlyn Prucker, Broderick Rheault, Faith Sarisley and Michael Scibelli.

College of the Holy Cross, Worcester MA

• Alexis Cantin of Ellington was named to the College of the Holy Cross spring 2021 Dean's List. A member of the Class of 2024, Cantin is majoring in Psychology. To qualify, students must pass four or more letter-graded courses with no failing grades during the semester and earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Ithaca College, Ithaca NY

• Sarah Karszes of Somers graduated from Ithaca College with a BS in Clinical Health Studies.

Springfield College, Springfield MA

• Springfield College recognizes six students from Ellington and five from Somers who earned Dean's List honors for the 2021 spring semester. Those students and their primary majors are:
  From Ellington: Lucas VanDeventer, Communication/Sport Journalism; Nathan Schofer, Digital, Web, and Multimedia Design; Kathryn Bonanno, Applied Exercise Science; Dakota Aldrich, Health Science and Pre-Physical Therapy; Daniel Leonard, Recreation Management; and Abigail Wylie, Sport Management. From Somers: Athena Baumann, Health Science/Pre-physician Assistant; Connor Roberts, Health Science/Pre-physician Assistant; Lauren Eastwood, Health Science; Dimitri Sanchez, Physical Education; and Adrianna Boucher, Psychology. The criteria for selection to the Dean's List are a minimum of 12 credit hours of graded coursework for the term, exclusive of "P" grades. The student must not have any incompletes or missing grades in the designated term. The student must have a minimum semester grade average of 3.500 for the term.

University of Nebraska, Lincoln NE

• Justin Paul Talbot of Somers has been named to the Deans' List at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for the spring semester of the 2020-21 academic year. Talbot, a senior majoring in actuarial science, was named to the Dean's List for the College of Business.
