The Most Dangerous Roads in Ellington and Somers
A new report outlines crash data in town.

ELLINGTON/SOMERS, CT — Ellington’s most dangerous roadway over the past four years is Route 83 with more than 200 crashes, while, in Somers, it's Route 190 with more than 150.
The University of Connecticut Crash Data Repository has crunched data from The Department of Public Safety and the state Department of Transportation.
In all, there were 826 crashes in Ellington since 2015 and 1,436 vehicles were involved. A total of 1,808 people were affected.

A pair of the crashes proved to be fatal, a half-dozen involved serious injuries and 108 involved minor injuries.

In Somers, there were 483 crashes in the time frame with four fatalities, three with serious injuries and 78 involving minor injuries.
