SOMERS, CT — A daring, darting cat was to blame for a motorcycle crash in Somers, the driver told state police.

The crash took place at 5:45 p.m. on May 3 and state police released the details in a report on Friday.

A 65-year-old Somers man was riding a 2005 Harley-Davidson in the southbound lane of Route 83, just north of Northwest Drive, according to a report. He suddenly lost control while avoiding a cat that ran into the road, according to a report.

The man sustained minor injuries and was taken to Johnson Memorial Hospital, state police said.
