Pumpkin Decorating Contest and Green Energy Day at the Ellington Farmers' Market

A Pumpkin Decorating Contest will be held at the Ellington Farmers’ Market on Saturday October 7th from 9-12 in Arbor Park in conjunction with Green Energy Day. Pick up a free pumpkin at one of our sponsors or use one of your own. Free pumpkins (for contestants only please) can be picked up at Homestead Comfort, 100 West Rd or Earthlight Technologies, 72 West Rd both located in Ellington. Pumpkins will be available for pickup beginning Oct. 2nd. Decorated pumpkins can be entered at the market on the morning of Oct. 7th at 9:00 am. Customers will vote for their favorites throughout the morning. Winners will be announced at noon. Be creative and join the fun! The top three entries will receive gift certificates to the market. The event is open to all ages. Our sponsors will also be available to help with advice on conserving fuel, decreasing your carbon footprint and saving money this upcoming winter season.
