Somers Home Burglarized During Contractor Scam: Police
While homeowners were distracted in their rear yard by a supposed contractor, a second man stole items from the home, according to police.

SOMERS, CT — State police are cautioning area residents after homeowners on Hill Pasture Rd. were victimized by a contracting scam Monday afternoon.
Around 2:30 p.m., a white man around 40 years old wearing an ID-type tag with a lanyard stopped at the home in a newer model white 4-door pickup truck. The man engaged in a conversation with the homeowners about their roof, tree work and that fiber optic wire installation was scheduled in the near future, police said.
While the homeowners were distracted in their rear yard, a second person entered the home and stole an undisclosed amount of items. Both men left the area in the white truck, police said.
