Somers Man Accused of Throwing Object at Vehicle

The 19-year-old then allegedly engaged police in a foot pursuit.

A 19-year-old Somers man is facing charges after allegedly throwing an object at a vehicle.

On Wednesday, troopers reported to the area of Quality Avenue and Route 190 in Somers for the report of a motor vehicle struck with an object.

While conducting a patrol check, troopers observed a white male, later identified as Alixander Henry Maturo, 19, of 31 School St. in Somers, behind a sign at the edge of the roadway.

Upon approaching this individual, he engaged police in a foot pursuit and was subsequently apprehended.

He was transported to Troop C where he was charged with throwing objects at a motor vehicle and interfering with an officer.

Maturo was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and given a court date of Aug. 4.
