Somers Schools Briefly In Soft Lockdown Mode After Bear Sighting

SOMERS, CT — A bear was spotted on the Vision Boulevard school campus Wednesday morning, prompting all schools to be put on soft lockdown.

All high school and middle school students were safely brought into the schools, and police arrived on campus to assist elementary students, according to a message from Superintendent of Schoo0ls Brian Czapla.

"It appears the bears have moved on and are no longer on campus," Czapla wrote.
