State police are looking for a burglar who hit homes in Tolland and Somers this week.

TOLLAND, CT — State police are looking for a burglar who hit homes in Tolland and Somers this week.
The first home burglarized was on Old Post Road in Tolland and took place on Monday between 11:23 a.m. and 11:44 a.m., according to surveillance, state police said.
State police said the burglar appeared to be a "heavyset black male" who was driving an older-dark-colored sport utility vehicle. The SUV was parked at the entrance to the Parks and Recreation Department on Old Post Road during that time, state police said.

The burglar broke into a nearby home and stole a "large quantity" of loose change and two electronic tablets, state police said. Pictures of the resident's recently deceased mother are on the tablets and are the only record of her last few months alive, state police said.
"The victim desperately would like to recover these photos," state police added.

State police said it appeared that the same man burglarized a home Tuesday in Somers between 11:18 and 11:40 a.m. The SUV was identified as a dark blue 2002 to 2005 Ford Explorer with tan trim. It was seen on Farm Lea Drive in Somers, where a home was burglarized and a wooden jewelry box was taken., state police said.
