Strawberry Season In Full Swing In Connecticut
Ellington Farmers Market will have loads of fresh native strawberries, lots of local produce and welcome DiFiores Ravioli Shop to the market

The peak of the strawberry season has finally arrived! The cool spring delayed the start of the season by a week this year but strawberry season is peaking and could continue through the first few days of July, depending on weather conditions. If pick your own is not for you, the Ellington Farmers' Market will have loads of already picked quarts available from Dzen Farms and Easy Pickins on Saturday mornings 9-12 at the Ellington High School. Local pick your own options include Scantic Valley Farm located at 327 Ninth District Road Somers, and Dzen Farm 87 Barber Hill Rd. Broad Brook, CT.
The market will also have a good supply of shortcake biscuits from LuAnn's Bakery and heavy cream for whipping from Smyth's Trinity Dairy Farm to make strawberry shortcake, the perfect treat for Fathers' Day.
Additional information on the Ellington Farmers' Market can be found on the market website.
