Three Great Events Happening In Ellington On Saturday
It looks to be a beautiful Saturday to meet pups available for adoption, visit barnyard animals, and bring your pets for a rabies vaccine
Ellington will be bustling with things to see and do for the entire family this Saturday June 12th. It's the annual Happiness is a Warm Puppy Dog Day at the Ellington Farmers' Market which takes place from 9-12 in Arbor Park. The Woof Gang and Paw Safe rescue groups will be bringing pups that are looking for their forever homes. Fido's Fiber will be on hand demonstrating spinning dog fur into yarn. Bring your dog, or a sample of their fur, and see if Roberta can spin it into yarn. Hand crafted dog treats will also be available. Live music will be provided by Judy Handler and Mark Levesque. Bring a chair and relax under the trees or shop the 40 vendors bringing a wide variety of locally grown and handcrafted items.
The Ellington Historical Society is holding Barnyard Animals Day at the Nellie McKnight Museum Quad from 10-2. The entire family can enjoy interacting with a litter of piglets, alpacas, baby chicks, chickens and calves. The house museum and farm exhibit will be open for touring along with the Mercantile and Vintage Wares Barn.
The Ellington Center Animal Clinic is hosting a Rabies and Microchip Clinic from 9-12 at the clinic, 66 Main St. The proceeds will benefit the Town of Ellington Animal Control Shelter. Cost for a rabies vaccine is $20 and microchip insertion is $30. Cash only.
