ELLINGTON, CT — An unoccupied vehicle apparently rolled away from the Valero gas station on the corner of Routes 286 and 83 Wednesday night, and crashed into the front door of a restaurant across the street.

The car apparently hopped the curb before crashing into Holiday Restaurant, located in a small plaza across from the station. The front door of the restaurant sustained a considerable amount of shattered glass.

An employee said the mess has been cleared, and the restaurant has resumed normal takeout and delivery services.
