Weather Looks Perfect For The Ellington Farmers Market Saturday
Summer is here! New Produce, Oakridge Dairy's "Big Rig", Kids POP Club, great music and 40 vendors with the best of local and fresh!

It is officially summer and Mother Nature is once again coming through with delightful weather for the Ellington Farmers' Market on Saturday June 22nd from 9-12 in Arbor Park. You can learn all about farming in 2019 from the people who manage Oakridge Dairy, Connecticut's largest dairy farm and a big part of the Ellington landscape. Oakridge will be bringing one of their "big rigs" along with lots of information on what's involved in dairy farming in modern times. (and boy have things changed!) Kids can climb aboard the equipment and play in the corn pool. New produce will be available including summer squash and more. The strawberries will be plentiful and among may other kinds of produce you will find multiple kinds of crisp fresh lettuces, picked on the market morning, perfect for fantastic summer salads. Musical entertainment will be provided by professional musicians Judy Handler and Mark Levesque. This husband and wife duo's sophisticated & expressive arrangements blend classical, Brazilian, Latin American, klezmer, gypsy, jazz, Celtic and folk music influences to create a unique and extraordinary sound. Bring a lawn chair and sit under the trees in an idyllic country setting while you relax, have breakfast and listen to great music. You can hear a sample of their music at here http://bit.ly/2ImrmOf A complete list of this week's vendors can be found on the market's newsletter.
