Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Somers and Ellington
BREAKING: We have latest details on when the snow starts, how much to expect and just how slippery your evening commute home will be.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for all of Connecticut for Tuesday afternoon and evening. A fast-moving storm will produce isolated bursts of heavy snow at times this afternoon and evening, which has already led to hundreds of schools to announce plans to dismiss early on Tuesday.
The evening commute home from work won’t be a pleasant one either as the snow is expected to be at its heaviest during this time. All in all we’ve dealt with far greater storms but the timing of this snow is what will make it a real inconvenience this evening.
WTNH News 8 Meteorologist Gil Simmons said the “Snow coming in late morning-early afternoon!”

Simmons predicts 1 to 3 inches of snow with up to four inches in certain spots. The silver lining is that 40 degree temps return tomorrow and the snow begins to melt, Simmons said.
