ENFIELD, CT — Honorees in the historic silver anniversary class of the Enfield Athletic Hall of Fame will have to wait another year to be celebrated, as the 25th annual induction ceremony has been postponed due to concerns over the coronavirus pandemic.

The celebration had been slated for Oct. 4 at the Oak Ridge Country Club in Feeding Hills, Mass., but a decision was made this week by the Hall of Fame board to reschedule the event to next year. An exact date is not yet confirmed.

Mark Dube, Karen Golden, Jim Hayden, Beth Pion and the late Joe Olko will be inducted into the Hall of Fame, while Bob Cressotti will receive the George Daly Jr. Special Recognition Award. The 1986-87 Fermi High School wrestling team, which was runnerup in the State Open, will also be inducted, as will the 1970-71 undefeated Enfield High School girls basketball team.
