Car Fire Causes Detours In Hazardville Section of Enfield
Powder Hill Road was blocked off in both directions for over an hour as firefighters and police worked at the scene.

ENFIELD, CT — A car fire in the Powder Hollow area of the Hazardville section of town caused a temporary shutdown of Powder Hill Road Monday evening.
The fire, reported around 5 p.m., was in the S-curve area just west of the Scantic River Bridge. Police and firefighters worked at the scene, with vehicles being forced to turn around in 3-point turns to go back up South Maple Street.
The fire was contained around 5:30 p.m., and the roadway was reopened around 6:15.
