Covid-19 creates dire need for Warming Ccenter’s 2021 season

Enfield, CT, June 30, 2020…Covid-19 has taken its toll in many ways. And, for Enfield Safe Harbor Warming Center, its toll has created a dire need for funding the opening of the shelter in 2021. The Enfield People For People Dba Enfield Safe Harbor Warming Center is concerned that the essential service of sheltering its neighbors who are homeless and heatless will be endangered if funds are not forthcoming soon. The 2021 budget may actually have to be increased as well, due to the virus limiting available overnight volunteers.

“Essentially it costs about $400 per night to provide our shelter
services,” adds Swift. “Normally we hold monthly fundraisers throughout
the year. This year, as with many non-profits, our fundraising has been
halted by the pandemic, and we are now about six months behind in our
fundraising schedule.”
