Dump Truck Crash Ties Up Traffic For Hours On Busy Enfield Road
The crash on Route 190 caused traffic difficulties for over three hours Thursday, according to police.

ENFIELD, CT — Traffic on Route 190 was slowed to a crawl for more than three hours Thursday afternoon, following a crash involving a dump truck.
The crash happened shortly before 4 p.m. when a triaxle dump truck filled with gravel swerved to avoid another vehicle and slammed into a guardrail, Sgt. Eric Horan said.
As a result of the crash, a fuel tank was displaced, resting on the guardrail. Amid concerns that the tank could puncture if moved, the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection was called in to safely pump out the fuel, Horan said.
