Eli Whitney School Welcomes New Principal

Anthony Brooks joins Enfield Public Schools entering his third year in school leadership.

From Enfield Public Schools: Mr. Brooks joins Enfield Public Schools entering his third year in school leadership. He previously served as Assistant Principal of Bowers School in Manchester and Dean of Students at SAND School in Hartford. Mr. Brooks started his journey into school administration in 2014 as part of the University of Connecticut’s UCAPP Residency Program, serving as a resident principal at Jefferson Elementary School in New Britain.

Mr. Brooks began his teaching career in 2003 as a fourth grade teacher in Waterbury before becoming an instructional coach in Hartford. He returned to the classroom for seven years as a sixth grade math and science teacher in New Britain, and in 2013, he was named Pulaski Middle School Teacher of the Year. In 2014, Mr. Brooks was honored by the Connecticut Association of Educational Opportunity Programs as a CAEOP Achiever for his work in education.

Mr. Brooks holds Sixth Year Diplomas in Educational Leadership and Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Connecticut. He earned a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Bridgeport after completing his undergraduate degree in Sociology also from the University of Connecticut. When school is not in session, Mr. Brooks enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. He loves to travel, having visited Europe, Australia, and the Caribbean with his family. Baseball, basketball, football, and soccer are also among his passions. Mr. Brooks is excited about engaging with teachers, parents, and students at Eli Whitney this fall.
