Enfield Brewery Opening Second Location In Middletown
The owner expects to be operating the second site this fall.

ENFIELD, CT — One of Enfield's biggest success stories of "local boy makes good" is creating the next chapter of its journey, as the Powder Hollow Brewery announced plans to open a second location in Middletown.
On the brewery's Facebook page, this announcement was posted Monday:
"We are NOT MOVING, but we have some exciting news...
We are building another Powder Hollow Brewery - Middletown CT Taproom. Our new location is located at 62 Washington Street in Middletown CT. This new location will host our pilot brewing system as well as a couple guest taps."
Michael McManus, a 2008 graduate of Enrico Fermi High School, opened the brewery at 504 Hazard Avenue, adjacent to the Scantic River, in late 2014. His sister, Michele McAuliffe, opened R Dee Winery in the same building last September.

McManus has leased space at 62 Washington Street in Middletown to open a second location, at the former site of Next Street and Fat City Garb. He said an outdoor patio area will be included.
“Being at the top of the state, it made sense for us to look south,” he said in a phone interview Friday. “Middletown already has a lot of food and drink spots, and it seemed like a good place for a brewery addition.”
