Enfield Police Stop Stolen Car Fleeing From Massachusetts Cops
A Wednesday night pursuit which began in West Springfield ended on Elm St. in Enfield after the stolen car's tires were flattened on I-91.

ENFIELD, CT — A stolen car pursuit which originated in West Springfield, Mass. ended in Enfield Wednesday night following successful deployment of a tire deflation device, or "stop sticks," by Enfield police.
West Springfield police were pursuing the stolen car on Interstate 91 southbound when they contacted Enfield officers while approaching the state line around 10:02 p.m. The stop sticks were deployed as the car passed Exit 49 just inside the Connecticut border, and the car exited onto Elm St. with three flat tires, police said.
Three people inside the stolen car, all residents of Springfield, were taken into custody. Juan Delgado, 39, John Gerena, 45, and Cindy Carley, 35, were each charged with third-degree larceny, possession of a controlled substance and being a fugitive from justice. Delgado was also charged with two counts of fourth-degree larceny and a single count of fifth-degree larceny, on a pair of warrants from 2020.

The three were held overnight in lieu of bonds totaling $135,000 for Delgado, $65,000 for Carley and $60,000 for Gerena.
