ENFIELD, CT — For the first time in more than six months, Tuesday's Board of Education meeting will offer the chance for members of the public to speak since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic.

The last school board meeting in the town hall Council Chambers was March 10. Since then, all meetings have been conducted virtually and have been designated "special meetings." Town of Enfield policies dictate public communication is not permitted during special meetings of the Board of Education or Town Council.

According to the meeting agenda, the chamber "will have limited public seating," with social distancing and masks required. During public participation, persons wishing to speak "will enter through Chamber doors in front of the building."

Among the items on the agenda is a resolution, approved last week by the Town Council, to temporarily suspend the facility use policy and use of town-owned buildings for all outside agencies.

The meeting is slated to begin at 7 p.m.
