Firearm And Narcotics Recovered During Enfield Traffic Stop
An East Hartford man was arrested Thursday following a traffic stop which yielded a handgun, ammunition and a considerable amount of drugs.

ENFIELD, CT — An East Hartford man stopped by police for a motor vehicle violation Thursday evening wound up being taken into custody on a litany of narcotics and firearm charges.
Marcus Richards, 37, was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, operating a drug factory, two counts of possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of less than a half-ounce of marijuana and illegal tints. He was held in lieu of $50,000 bond, according to police logs.
Around 7 p.m., a vehicle operated by Richards was cited for a window and front windshield tint violations on Cross Street near Pearl Street. An officer smelled the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle, and a subsequent search yielded a handgun and magazine containing eight 9,, rounds, about 200 wax folds containing heroin, about 50 grams of crack cocaine and 24 grams of powdered cocaine, a small quantity of marijuana, a significant amount of drug paraphernalia and about $400 in cash, police said.
