Happy Father’s Day From Delia Kibbe

"By telling me what is wrong and right you have shaped me into who I am today."

In celebration of Father's Day on Sunday June 17, we asked Patch readers to write a letter to their father and let us deliver it. This is Delia Kibbe's letter to her dad:

Dad, you are one in a million. You pick me up when I feel down, and you shine the greatest light into my life.

A lot of people don’t appreciate their fathers like they should, and I know that I don’t either sometimes, so I would like to say thank you. Thank you for everything you do, whether it is going out in the middle of the night to run and get me tape from the store, or spending hours of your day just to help me with homework. Thank you for helping me with problems I face at school and problems that I encounter daily.

You have disciplined me, and while I probably didn’t know it at the time, by telling me what is wrong and right you have shaped me into who I am today. You have taught me to be nice, to be smart, to be helpful, and you are an amazing father. I would be completely lost without you. Thank you, Dad. I love you.
