ENFIELD, CT — A Massachusetts man was held over the weekend in lieu of $250,000 bond after being charged with home invasion and other crimes connected to an incident early Sunday morning.

Ovando Lewis, 23, of Springfield, was also charged with fourth-degree larceny, third-degree robbery, second-degree breach of peace, second-degree harassment and third-degree assault. He remains in custody, though his bail was reduced to $50,000 during his arraignment Monday in Hartford Superior Court.

A police report indicates Lewis and another person had been involved in a domestic incident sometime Saturday, and after police told Him to leave the premises, Lewis sent multiple voice messages to the victim. Around 3:30 a.m. Sunday, he called the victim and said he forgot his car keys, Chief Alaric Fox said.

He called the victim several more times, then according to the victim's statement, Lewis was heard on the porch and the victim's dog began barking. He refused to leave, and entered the home through a window, which he later admitted, Fox said.

Inside, the victim said Lewis pushed her several times, then took her cell phone. She sustained minor injuries, but declined medical attention, Fox said.
