Man Sustains Deep Head Cuts In Enfield Domestic Violence Incident
One cut was "all the way to the skull," according to a doctor interviewed by police following a bloody domestic violence incident Sunday.

ENFIELD, CT — The Easter holiday did not end very sweetly for several people involved in a bloody domestic violence incident which resulted in one person sustaining deep head lacerations, according to police.
A police officer on patrol in the Brainard Rd. area spotted a running car backed onto the lawn of a home near Brainard and Lancer Dr. around 11:39 p.m. At that time, the officer noticed a pending message regarding an assault on Sharren Lane, a short distance away, Police Chief Alaric Fox said.
The man in the car told police he had gone to the Sharren Lane home of Santos M. Vega, 42, "for a few drinks, a good time and to talk," according to a police report. However, he said he was "hit with some piece of metal" by Vega, who threatened to kill him. The victim used a dishwasher rack to defend himself, Fox said.

Vega consented to a search of his home, where police found freshly broken glass, a broken bloody kitchen knife and blood droplets in numerous locations. The dishwasher rack was found on the floor, Fox said.
Vega was charged with second-degree assault, second-degree threatening and second-degree breach of peace. He was held overnight in lieu of $22,000 cash or surety bond, and was slated to be arraigned Monday in Hartford Superior Court.
