Motorcyclist Killed In Crash On Route 5 In Enfield
A fatal collision between a motorcycle and pickup truck closed a portion of Route 5 for several hours Friday.
ENFIELD, CT — A motorcycle operator was killed late Friday afternoon in a crash involving a pickup truck on Route 5, at the intersection with Manning Road.
Around 5:45 p.m., a 2007 Yamaha YZF-R1 operated by Joel Rapalo Jr., 28, collided with a 2005 Ford F-150 operated by Gary Thresher, 64, according to a report from Officer Kevin Ragion.
Rapalo was transported to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, where he was pronounced dead, Ragion wrote.

A segment of Route 5 was closed for several hours between Brainard Road and Bernardino Ave. as police conducted an investigation, which is ongoing.
