Patch Candidate Profiles 2022: Tom Arnone, 58th House District
Tom Arnone, an Enfield resident, is running for re-election to the Connecticut General Assembly in the 58th District.

ENFIELD, CT ? The 2022 election is heating up in Connecticut and there are plenty of races with candidates eager to serve in elected office. Eyes are primarily focused on the gubernatorial election, but every state representative and senate seat is up for grabs. All five of Connecticut's congressional seats, plus one U.S. Senate seat, are up for grabs as well.
There are 151 seats in the state House of Representatives and 36 in the state Senate. Democrats currently hold majorities in both chambers.

Does anyone in your family work in politics or government? My brother Leo is retired Commissioner of Corrections.
Age: 61
Previous public office, appointive or elective: Vice Chair Inland Wetlands, Board of Education, Town Councilor at Large, State Representative 58th District.
Why are you seeking this office?
My parents taught me about the importance of public service and to always give back to the community. Public service is very satisfying to me it makes me happy. I enjoy helping people and making a difference.

Connecticut's economy. We are in an affordable housing crisis. Businesses can find workers. Connecticut's economy is ready to expand; we can't do it without affordable housing.

Experience and community knowledge.
What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
Continue to work with schools on mental health issues and public health. Continue to get the state funding Enfield deserves.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
20 years in public service, 14 as an elected official.
