Picture Enfield - Then And Now
An old photograph and story from Enfield history and how that site appears today, plus a trivia question.

ENFIELD, CT — Today's installment of this weekly Enfield history series, courtesy of the Facebook group Picture Enfield, shows a former dining favorite on Route 190 - Mr. Steak.
The chain steakhouse originated in Colorado in 1962, and was located at 143 Hazard Avenue in Enfield throughout the 1970s and early 1980s. The corporation went bankrupt in 1987.
A number of medical practitioners have occupied the building over the past three decades. It is currently home to Primary Spine & Rehab.

Last week's trivia answer:
Last week's trivia question was actually from the previous week, as this column did not appear last week. The last question was, "Where was the party spot known as The Pits?" Several different answers and a mini-argument ensued, with one guy saying The Pits was behind Powder Hollow Park and another claiming it was up near the state line, in the Sword/Bernardino area. I don't know, as I was such a clean-cut innocent youth back then (cough, cough).
