Savage Brothers to Perform At St. Bernard Carnival

The Savage Brothers will be performing at the St. Bernard's carnival on June 1 through 3.

From St. Bernard Church: A free concert by the Savage Brothers, one of the region’s premiere bands for three decades, once again will be among the highlights of this year’s edition of St. Bernard Church’s carnival, to be held Thursday, June 1; Friday, June 2; and Saturday, June 3, on the church grounds at 424 Hazard Ave.

The carnival will run from 6 to 10 p.m. each day, featuring carnival rides, with wrist bands for sale every evening for $20 that provide unlimited access to the fairground’s rides, or individual ride tickets. There will be a wide variety of food, including fried dough, French fries, doughnuts, strawberry shortcakes and sundaes; craft beer provided by Powder Hollow Brewery; and hamburgers, hot dogs, and grinders prepared by Danny’s Pizza. There will also be a selection of state-sanctioned games of chance on the carnival’s midway.

Performing Saturday from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. will be the Savage Brothers, a band founded in 1984 in the basement of the family’s Windsor Locks home that has performed over 5,000 concerts across the Northeast. This “six-piece funkin’, rockin’, and rhythm group” is led by two of the founding brothers, vocalists Michael and Mark Savage, and features two horn players as well as guitars, keyboards, bass, and drums.
