Fatal Crash Closes Part of South Road In Enfield [UPDATED]

A fatal collision between a motorcycle and an SUV closed South Road in front of the BP gas station Thursday afternoon.

ENFIELD, CT — A severe crash involving a motorcycle and a sport utility vehicle resulted in the death of the motorcycle operator and closed a portion of South Road for several hours Thursday afternoon.

The crash in front of the BP gas station took place around 2:29 p.m. Police closed the street between Duprey and Locke drives and detoured traffic down neighboring side roads as investigators worked at the scene.

The motorcycle, a 2015 Harley Davidson FLS, was operated by Megan Arsenault, 37. She was pronounced dead at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, police said.

A 2020 Kia Sportage operated by Frances Roche, 71, was also involved in the crash. She was transported to Hartford Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
