Spring Openers Slated For Saturday For Regional High School Teams
Scholastic teams from Hartford and Tolland county which had last spring season canceled entirely are set to kick off the schedule Saturday.

HARTFORD/TOLLAND COUNTIES, CT — After the 2020 season was canceled due to the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, the long-awaited regular season schedule for spring sports kicks off Saturday, with numerous games slated at high schools across Hartford and Tolland counties.
Plans approved by the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference (CIAC) call for a full season of games, followed by state tournament competition. Saturday marks the first date games are allowed under CIAC guidelines, and 45 contests involving teams from the region are scheduled.
Golf is the only spring sport not competing this weekend, as matches involving local teams do not begin until Monday.

Saturday should be a great day to get outside and cheer on your favorite student-athletes, as the National Weather Service calls for partly sunny skies and a high temperature approaching 70 degrees.
