Storm Damage Forces Indefinite Closure of Enfield Dog Park
The dog park sustained considerable damage from the tail end of Tropical Storm Isaias late Tuesday afternoon.

ENFIELD, CT — After sparing Enfield for the majority of Tuesday, Tropical Storm Isaias struck the town heavily in late afternoon, causing uprooted trees, falling branches and considerable debris. Among the hardest-hit areas in town was the Enfield Dog Park, located adjacent to the town transfer station off Town Farm Road.
Fallen tree limbs crashed through chain link fences, into benches and onto playscape items at the dog park, forcing management to close the facility "until further notice," according to president Karen Pugliese.
"It's too early to fully assess all the damage," Pugliese said, adding it is impossible to estimate an expected reopening date at this stage. She did say volunteers to assist with damage cleanup would be greatly appreciated.
